During the class of Biology, the learning objectives are learning about sustainable agriculture and different types of plant anatomy. This is valuable to my future because in my life I will need to know how to use the skills we are leaning in the class know. In the environment I live in there are many fields and farms here for jobs and other work, So for that reason I would like to know what people are doing to our foods and how it can affect us or benefit us in our daily lives. The project that I am submitting as an artifact for Biology had the following learning objectives Of GMOs these link back to the course learning objectives by how does agriculture affect or benefit today's society. The assignment or project was about How DNA and GMOs are taken and modified into whatever people need them to be. We also Had to know what a genes were, we started learning about DNA and how it codes for different types of genes, also how it affects the different types of GMOs. And required me to research a specific GMO food and take the pros and cons of the food I choose and list them into an Infographic. The Process I went through to do this project and meet the learning objectives first started with Finding a good GMO food that I could learn new things about. Than We had to find the Pros and Cons of the GMO food and write them down to compare them to each other. We had to show a picture for the infographic and state facts that we had learned. Throughout this process listed above I have realized I have learned or grown in the following ways That I can be able to show my work in different types of ways, for example the infographic. I've never done a infographic so it was a new experience for my with showing my work through there. These link back to the course goals and project goals with the following evidence of the GMO squash, The genetically modified squash can prevent heat stroke and has potassium and many vitamins inside it.Scientist also made the squash virus restentent. The Two School Wide Learning Outcomes I demonstrated with this Artifact are self directed learning who communicates effectively and applying technological skill for the 21st century. I have demonstrated self direction in the artifact by demonstrating I can get my own work done and know what i'm writing about and talking about for my GMO squash. This is important because if I didn't know what I was writing about or leaning about.I could have improved the following of applying technology skills of the 21st century. I could have used more of the skills that I know to make my infographic look better and be more academic, basically more facts and more notes taken off the internetOverall the the most important things I have learned in this class this year are How GMO food is made, and how it affects today's society. Also how DNA codes for genes. These skills I have learned in this class will help me in the future by, When I get older I will have knowledge on what GMOs are and how they are made and how they affect our health from knowing the pros and cons of the foods. Even for DNA I will know know why certain things are made and why they work the way they work. All in all its good for me to know these things because I should be able to know how my GMO foods are made and how I was even made and why My eyes are brown or why I have curly hair all because of DNA.
